Numerical Analysis of Air Effect on the Dynamics of the FT4 Powder Rheometer

The FT4 powder rheometer of Freeman Technology has received a great attention for its capability to operate in the dynamic regime of shear strain rate. It measures the work of an impeller rotating and penetrating a bed of powders. For light and fine powders, the interstitial air affects the powder dynamics. We use the DEM-CFD simulation platform based on EDEM and ANSYS Fluent to simulate the influence of air drag on the dynamic behavior of the FT4 rheometer.
