UK–China International Particle Technology Forum VII & UK Annual Particle Technology Forum
- Start Date
- End Date
- Edinburgh, UK
The 7th UK–China International Particle Technology Forum and annual UK Particle Technology Forum which will be held jointly in Edinburgh on 28–31 July 2019.
The event is organised by the University of Edinburgh and the conference chairs are Prof. Jin Ooi, University of Edinburgh, UK and
Prof. Qingshan Zhu, Institute of Process Engineering, CAS, China.
This Joint Forum will bring together researchers and practitioners from the particle science and technology community to discuss recent advances in the field, identify research areas of particular focus, establish new international collaborations and strengthen existing ones.
The themes of this forum consist of both fundamental and applied aspects of particle science and engineering, including particle synthesis, characterization and measurement, particle processing and manufacture, bulk powder handling, bulk flow characterization, particulate product engineering, modelling and simulation, and emerging applications of particle technology.
The joint forum will include the Competition for IChemE Young Researchers Award in Particle Technology as well as Best Poster Awards.
EDEM is a gold sponsor for this event. For more information, visit the event website.
The EDEM team will be attending this event and presenting:
“Accelerated heat transfer simulations using coupled DEM and CFD”
Dr Marina Sousani, EDEM Engineer, Monday 29th July, 12:20-12:40
“An experimentally validated DEM simulation of a monotonic triaxial test on railway ballast including the membrane boundary condition”
Stefan Pantaleev, EDEM Engineer, Tuesday 30th July, 12:40-13:00
Particle modeling and simulation tools including EDEM software will be a key topic at the conference. Image courtesy of the University of Edinburgh. Twin screw granulator.
